'Hawaiian Culture'

I was looking for a book from a book shelf from my host family's house, and I found a book about the Hawaiian culture. I started reading this book because i want to know more about Hawaii. This book is less than 100 pages and has many pictures. I read this book, and I learned more about Hawaii. The most interesting thing for me was the Hawaiian legend. I learned about the gods in Hawaii.

  1. It is good to know the Hawaiian legends as they are closely related to the culture and life style here. There are a number of stories behind the formation of the islands. I remember I was very impressed when my auntie told me a story about Ohia and Lehua. It reminded me of a Japanese flower "wasure na gusa" ("Forget Me Not" in English). If there is a grandma or grandpa in your host family, you can ask them to share their stories too:)
